Liberty POS, a 20-year-old POS used by small business owners, had become a storm of interface chaos with decades of feature additions. Users had adapted to dysfunction without knowing a better experience was possible, we were facing the challenge: how do you bring clarity to years of accumulated complexity without alienating existing users?
In this talk, we share the story of reimagining this legacy system—breaking down information, stripping away cognitive noise, and rebuilding it an intuitive platform that guides users naturally through their tasks, especially for older users. Learn how the team brought simplicity to the interface by anchoring every decision in journey goals—making the daily actions obvious, reducing friction, and bridging physical - digital gap with purposeful depth.
