Mental models have been a core concept to UX since the earliest days of the industry and continue to be to this day. They have a long and rich history in UX and can be applied to understand any experience, new or old. Yet, many designers and researchers not familiar with the origins of the theory and the many ways it can be applied, especially to newer technologies. This talk will be very practical for UX practitioners, explore the origins and applications of Mental Models in UX, offering concrete ways of measuring user mental models, and speaking to different product and user contexts.
