Choose Your Own Adventure: Let’s Host an Unconference

Venture Hall, Thursday 11:00 am - 11:45 am

Let’s talk about the usability and user focus of the conference itself. Organizers guess what you want and march you through a strict schedule. If we paid as much attention to the UX of a conference as we do to the UX of a product, we’d let our attendees choose their own adventure and create the conference they want.

An Unconference is perfect for this. When attendees arrive, they throw out their ideas for sessions and just run them. Anyone can propose and host a session. The participant-driven event is fluid and dynamic. It’s an out-of-the-box experience shaped by the people who attend and their ideas.

One of my favorite conferences always has a delightful Unconference track that lasts 2 full days. UX Y’all should experiment with this idea and see what our community thinks.
