Marrying Design and Research

Track A (Upstairs), Friday 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm

UX researchers and designers are intimately connected and interdependent. However, just like all humans, they make mistakes and don't always collaborate as well as they could. When this happens, it ultimately impacts UX outcomes. Designers and researchers can encounter any number of collaboration stumbling blocks like communication issues, misaligned goals, and differences in approaches to decision-making. As it turns out, these are also challenges that face couples. When these kinds of challenges arise, couples are able to learn from them and develop strategies for success moving forward. These strategies can be adapted to improve UX collaboration by learning from the past to improve the working relationship and produce better experience outcomes.
