Johnny is a Growth User Researcher at Pendo and conducts mixed-methods research to improve user onboarding, feature adoption/retention, and paid conversion.

Formerly, he was the Experimentation Research at Toast and led research for the relaunch of Toast QR-Code Order & Pay. He also was a quant-focused User Research & Data Analyst at Optum.

Rebuilding requires that we not only learn the lessons from the past, but that we ensure that our solutions for tomorrow are useful and relevant to people today. Given the never-ending cycle of companies releasing failed "innovative" products, we have to ask ourselves, "Is there a better way?"

Luckily, adopting an experimentation framework unlocks the ability for UXers & Product folk to de-risk their ideas and make faster, more confident product decisions!

This talk will give you the basics about:

- Running discovery experiments to narrow in on current & pressing user problems,
- Running evaluative experiments to deduce the most effective solutions, and
- How to implement an experimentation program more broadly at your company.
